Happiness is a State of mind and all of us long for it. Most of the times we fail to understand what is happiness to us. Happiness differs from person to person and from situations to situations. We so desperately long for it, such that, we fail to embrace it when, it actually comes.
I was always curious to know about happiness. I met people, spoke to them and trust me, I got more confused. I read books on happiness and realized that the more I get into it, the more I am confused. Thus, happiness is an experience to me at different states of life. Want to know the secret to happiness? Find out the reason for your trouble:
There was a time when, I used to be depressed about things that I don’t even know. I used to feel bad about everything and I used to blame everyone for it. I blamed my internal as well as the external environment. But, as I started thinking more over it, I realized that till I find the right source, I will not be able to know the root cause of my problems and seek happiness. So, next time if you are upset, do find out the source of your unhappiness and you are sure to get the desired happiness.
Know what you desire from life:
You must understand yourself first, before you go in search of happiness. Know what you want and find out ways to achieve it. If you do not know what you want in life, you will end up getting things that you don’t want. Let’s say, that you want to travel the world, but you haven’t saved any money. Let’s say that you wanted to write, but you never attempted a single word. Thus, if there is a desire, you must also have to be prepared to take extra steps to get your desire fulfilled.
No, I am not asking you to be a sage. But definitely, you have to stop cribbing and complaining about life. If you are negative all the times, you are sure not to attract happiness. Happiness comes to those who are entitled to it. You might have several reasons to complain in life. Let’s say, your maid was on leave today, there was a huge traffic jam and you were late to the office, someone stole your wallet and so on. Just breathe and stay relaxed!
Be disciplined and focused:
You need to be strong enough to get what you want. Let’s say, you are happy when you lose weight. For that you need to hit the gym, maintain a diet and have a check on your lifestyle. If you are irregular to the gym, your weight is sure to fluctuate. If you eat junk food, you will be inviting fat. Thus, make sure that you are disciplined and stick to it.
